Earlier today, International news channel, Al

above. The article was written to celebrate a Nigerian female mechanic.
However many Nigerians on twitter felt the story title was inappropriate
as it kinda portrayed all Nigerian women as prostitutes.

Drug Trafficking: Deaf And Dumb Man Bags Three Years Imprisonment
A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday sentenced a 32-year old deaf and dumb, Aliu Sanni, to a three-year jail term.
According to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, the accused was caught dealing in cocaine.
It was gathered that Justice M.B. Idris gave the judgement after Aliu had pleaded guilty to one count bordering on dealing in about 17.8 kilogrammes of cocaine.
Mr. Orji Kalu, counsel to the NDLEA, informed the court that Aliu was arrested on March 26, 2014 at Young Shall Grow Motor Park, Iddo, Lagos, while trying to move the narcotic out of Lagos.
He stated that the offence violate Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Law of the Federation, 2004.
While delivering judgement, Justice Idris said it would serve as a deterrent to others dealing in illicit drugs.
“Since the accused had pleaded guilty to the charge before this court, he is hereby convicted as charged.
“The convict was completely aware of his commercial activities in restricted drugs and so he must be punished.
“He is accordingly sentenced to three years imprisonment beginning from the day of arrest.
“The sentence of the convict shall serve as a warning signal to other drug traffickers.” Idris said.
It was reported last month that the accused was remanded in prison for trafficking drug.
Are Lekki Landlords Scaring Investors out of Lagos?
The desire for Nigeria to catch-up with
the developed world is high among well meaning Nigerians and lovers of
the African continent who point at the leading role expected of the
country as the main reason for their craving. Notable areas
that Nigeria has a long way to go in catching-up with the world include
infrastructure and urban development. These two elements are very
important in attracting businesses and investors.
Urban development in Nigeria took the front burner under the civil administration of former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, whose patriotic zeal fired up one his chief helmsmen, Nair El-Rufai, then Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to take on violators of the capital territory’s master plan in combatant fashion. This was a brave decision as many beautiful houses were pulled down and many toes stepped on in the bid to get housing and other urban development to conform to the original master-plan of the Abuja FCT.

Contrary to many Nigerians' opinions, the Borno State
government has spent over N10 billion in the last three years to fight
against insurgency in the state, according to the Secretary to Borno
State Government, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda.
The state's scribe made the disclosure in Lagos at the weekend, during an interactive session with senior journalists.
Mr. Jidda, who informed that the state has only received N200 million in form of assistance from the Federal Government from 2011 till date, however, said that the Borno State Government had invested over N10 billion in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency within same period.
Some of the things he said they spent the huge outlay upon include the procurement of armoured personnel carriers, patrol vehicles, hundreds of trailers of petroleum products, provision of material logistics and intervention in the area of accommodation to support security agencies.

* Borno State scribe, Ahmed Jidda
According to the former Ambassador to Burkina-Faso, the Borno State Government had earlier decided not to make public its expenditure as it relates to the support to security agencies in its fight against Boko Haram, because Governor Kashim Shettima did not want to be viewed as embarrassing the Federal Government, since funding of security, especially at a time like this, falls under the Exclusive Legislative list.

Islamic Hate Cleric Commends Boko Haram For Chibok Girls Abduction
A hate preacher from London Mizanur Rahman caused public
outrage as he praised Boko Haram in general and particularly the
abduction of more than 200 Chibok school girls.

Photo: Mizanur Rahman
In the released videos Rahman, who had been jailed for 3 years after calling for attacks similar to the New York bombing in Europe, commended Boko Haram, recently characterized by the USA as the deadliest terrorist group, and said it is "not necessarily a bad thing" if they kill non-Muslims.
The videos are currently probed by Scotland Yard specialists, The Herald reports.
The leader of Quilliam counter-extremist think tank Haras Rafiq called the videos dangerous saying:
"The comments he’s made about Boko Haram are particularly dangerous, appalling and disgusting. He’s teaching how to hate and anger non-Muslims. That is a real threat to society and needs to be countered."
See the phrase from the video transcript:
"They [Boko Haram] didn’t do to these girls what the Nigerian government had been doing to the Muslims all these years – they didn’t rape anybody, they didn’t torture, they didn’t murder any of these girls."
Meanwhile the whole world has joined Nigeria in the effort to locate and rescue the school girls from Chibok, Borno State, kidnapped on April 14. Weeks after the abduction Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau claimed responsibility for the act and said the children were converted to Islam.
On Monday the Nigerian military said they had discovered the whereabouts of the students adding however that they won't use force to rescue the girls.
